Registry Error Utilities Review - Regcure

What is it

Computer registry errors are very frustrating. In fact a sizable amount of support calls these days are related to these. If you have experienced the frustration of a slow computer, or you have had to wait for entire minutes just to execute the simplest task like opening a word document, then you know what I mean.

Support comes in many forms. The internet is full of registry tools. Some are good, others are not so good.

This week's review focuses on one registry cleaner: Regcure.

Why you need it

Regcure is a registry error utility that offers an impressive all-in-one solution. Here are only a few features:

Uninstall Entries – once you have uninstalled an application from your PC, not all related registry entries are also removed at the same time. These remain and later clog your registry, making your PC to slow down. RegCure scours your registry for invalid information left behind by incorrect uninstall processes and removes them.

Shared DLLs - This is a big registry issue too. Some bad registry error repair tools will remove DLL entries without first making sure that they are still being used by another application. By removing these shared entries, you can't use the affected applications - or they become unstable. Regcure repair DLL entries too.

As a result of so many useless registry entries, Windows will require more time to run.

Automatic and routine registry scan - I must say, this is my favourite feature. Nobody these days has the time to run registry scanning regularly. It’s much better to set the repair tool to scan on a weekly or monthly basis.

Object selection and removal - Once it detects the errors and other flawed objects, Regcure lets you choose which ones to remove and which to keep. This is quite useful in case the utility got confused and was about to remove a vital registry entry.

This is only a small example of great features you can expect from Regcure.

Why people hate it

The internet is replete with Regcure complaints, fair and otherwise. A simple “regcure sucks” Google brings up all sorts of stories, ranging from “they took my money but I could not download Regcure”, to “Regcure deleted my files”, to “it corrupted a bunch of my programs”.

In all fairness though, let’s say that at $30 a download, Regcure is rather expensive, especially considering that there are a number of better free registry error utilities available online.

Another big problem with the guys at Regcure is the complete absence of a live telephone support. So if you run into trouble with Regcure, don’t expect much in terms of immediate technical support. Of course you can always send through a support email, and wait a couple of weeks for a reply.
