Turning a Symbian Phone Into a Bluetooth Webcam

Did you know that you can turn your Symbian Phone into a Bluetooth webcam? That is if you own a mobile telephone running on Symbian 60 V2, 3 or 5.

How to Turn a Symbian Phone Into a Bluetooth Webcam.

Step 1 – Go to Mobiola.com. They are pretty much the only ones who have come up with a decent Bluetooth application to turn a Symbian Phone into a Bluetooth Webcam.

Step 2 – Download the trial version of the application. (I’ve added a download button at the bottom of this page to take you directly there). You have a month to pay for the software (meanwhile you have to put up with the nagware).

Step 3 – The application comes in 2 modules: one for the computer, and one for your Symbian phone. Install both modules (you can send the symbian module to the mobile through Bluetooth or usb, depending on what connection you got).

Step 4 – Make sure that the communication port is the same on both the computer and the Symbian phone (in my case, I set the port to COM7).

When it’s all set and done, the video feed is stunning. All you now need to do is start your messenger and tell it that a webcam is installed.
